There are set rules and procedures that need to be followed when taking samples so that the results of the final analysis can be regarded as true and accurate and so that samples from different sites can be compared.

If sampling was conducted differently each time then the results of the analysis could not be relied upon to give an accurate picture of the soil, turf or water being tested.
