Withstands occasional mild frosts and cool conditions (to - 6°C.). Moderate exposure to salt wind is tolerated. The Queen Palm requires good drainage. The foliage looks best is partial shade although plants will grow in full sun. Versatile for pH.

Responds well to nitrogenous fertilisers in the growing season. Irrigate in dry periods. Both young and mature Queen Palms transplant reliably. Two-Spotted Mite, Mealy Bug and Orange and Yellow Palm Dart Caterpillars may become a problem.
