• mottled leaves (yellow or grey)

• chewed and damaged leaves

• sting marks on fruit

• the presence of the insect nymphs

• the presence of the insect larva

• the presence of the insect excreta and secretions

• distorted, wilted and rolled leaves

• distorted, wilted buds and flowers.

Disease problems include:

• wilting and shrivelling and distorted leaves

• stunted growth

• spots, streaks, blotches, ring pattern, line patterns or speckles on the leaves

• furry coating on the leaves

• reduction in fruit and flower production

• dwarfing or stunting of growth.
