Rotary spreader calibration - text alternative

1. Put on the appropriate personal protective equipment.

2. Measure out a ten metre by ten metre square (100 square metres).

3. Set the spreader to the estimated setting for the application rate required (see spreader's operator's manual).

4. Weigh out fertiliser and add to hopper (this will be Weight A).

5. Fertilise 100 square metre area.

6. Weigh the fertiliser left over in the hopper (this will be Weight B).

7. Calculate the amount required to fertilise 100 square metres (called F100) by deducting Weight B from Weight A.

8. Calculate amount required to fertilise one square metre (called F1) by dividing F100 by 100.

9. Calculate the amount required to fertilise one hectare (called FH) by multiplying F1 by 10000.

10. Repeat steps one to nine until the setting you choose gives the required application rate.
