Before you begin this toolbox, you will need a computer with the following hardware and software.

Client Hardware (Student's computer)

• IBM compatible computer, 300MHz processor.
• 128MB of RAM
• 100MB of hard disc space
• 800 x 600 display (1024 x 768 recommended)
• CD ROM drive
• 1.44 Mb floppy disk drive
• Sound card
• 28.8k modem or higher configuration.
• (OR Macintosh equivalent)

Access to a printer would also be useful as you may have to print out pages from within the toolbox.

Client Software (Student's software)

You will also need the following software installed in your computer:

• Microsoft^® Windows^® 98, 2000 or XP or Mactintosh equiv.
• Microsoft^® Internet Explorer 5 or higher (preferably 6) OR
• Netscape^® Navigator 6.2 or higher
• A word processing program, for example Microsoft^® Word.
• A valid email address.

You will also require the following plug-ins to run the multimedia interactions in this unit:

Macromedia^® Flash Player version 7.0 - if you haven't got this plug-in, you can download and install the latest free version from Macromedia^®.

Macromedia^® Shockwave Player - if you haven't got this plug-in, you can download and install the latest free version from Macromedia^®.

RealPlayer^® - Download the free basic player.
