Suited to warm temperate to tropical range. Mean annual rainfall is around 900-1800mm. Best on good quality alluvial, sandy loam. Should be moist but well drained. Is moderately frost tolerant.

A tree that thrives on regular watering and mulching. Fertiliser may be applied in small quantities during Spring and Summer. Does not respond well to pruning.
